How many healers here?

I was fascinated by all the talk of Aesclepius.

To whit: Half-way through college, I found myself unexpectedly compelled to change directions and pursue an M.D.
And now I'm predisposed to calling myself a healer instead of a doctor (see my post in the 'compiling information' thread).

How many other "healers" (of any sort) here?

That is one of my current professions (body and energy work). According to the people I work on, I'm quite good, but I have a difficult time admitting it ;)

I'm still totally amazed that this stuff is real.

Tonight at tday dinner, moms said she had some pain on her back. I figured I'd try the technique I've been using; so I passed my hand over her back (about an inch away), felt the pull in an area, zeroed in on it, then pressed on it with my finger. She said that it was the exact spot!

I am in awe of these things that are so much greater than us....

I'm somewhere along the lines, but more on the educational side. My BS is in Health Science Studies - Community Health, Program Planning and Implementation, Grant Writing, and Epidemiology (focus on HIV/AIDS). Though I'm not using my degree professionally at the moment, it's always been quite helpful to have :)

I'm a natural healer and I'm going back to school to become an RN.

I have finally claim the tittle healer. I come from a long line of healers, and I finally figured out the difference from a doctor and a healer is that you go to school to be a doctor; a healer is something that you are...it's in your DNA/blood/soul.

I find by just talking to someone I can see/feel what is the dis ease that is inside them. A healer works with the person's higher self/spirit to help them to heal themself. A doctor heals the symptom.

Or one could be both.. *wink wink* *ahem!* :)

                I agree.

I have a lot of issues with doctors too.

But when a healer becomes a doctor, a whole new realm of understanding and resources become available to the practitioner -- something a shaman told me (just this week) is invaluable.

I guess when you meet a doctor, you should close your eyes for a moment and read their energy. If their energy is positive enough, I would think that they should be just fine. :)

All of the career choices I've gone over through the years including the one I went to school for are in the health care field. I have always felt the need to make people feel better, or go the extra mile for someone elses comfort over my own. I just found my "true astrological sign" this evening.

I wish I found this group years ago, but better late then never. I was born on Nov 30th 1980. I am not sure if I am able to heal anyone, but right now I am facing some serious issues of my own. I am sure once i get better I will be able to do wonders in the world.

I was inexorably drawn to medical & health sciences at a very young age, and intended to go the med school to become a doctor, however, upon entering college, I found that other studies caught my attention. I also began to practice massage at that time. I went on to learn Joyrei, and several other forms of "non direct contact" healing, and employ both at different times according to intuition, and have rec'd feedback affirming many positive effects. I am as yet, uncertified, but cannot deny the comments & reaction I've rec'd even when not attempting to "heal" people of ailment. The simple act of direct, or indirect touch has had effects on many, and so I simply continue - however, I don't generally "talk" about it. While I employ this 'gift' rather sparingly, it has been manifested through music, touch, prayer, dance, listening, and other expressions.

I've never formally considered myself a healer. At the moment I would call myself a performer but, over the years I have been given thousands of Tarot readings that people still mention years later. I also do reiki treatments for good friends or when the energy calls me to it.

Seemed like a three year thread, so its never too late to contribute.

Growing up I found myself constantly drawn to nutrition and health and in my later years.. alternative medicines and justice combined. In the past few years I've felt an overwhelming urge to heal the ills of man. As if this were my life's purpose and devout mission.

I'm currently studying in my own time, what I can, from the internet.. until I can afford further schooling to become a Doctor of natural medicine, etc...

I feel a great sense of fulfillment when helping direct someone in the right direction towards health.

And it is true what they say .. about Ophiuchus types feeling the pain of others.. sometimes too much. Yep, that's me...!

I have one question though.. In terms of Mutable, Fixed, Flexible.. or Fire, Earth, Water, Air.. which is Ophiuchus?
